Love Springs from God.....
As I sit here thinking back on my week, I begin to see what I've came through. When I left for Womens retreat last weekend I didn't see what God was preparing me for the week ahead of me. I spent the weekend learning about Loving well, Loving those who are hard to love, Loving those who have hurt you, Loving those who are strangers and Loving those who are a Joy to love. As I sat and listened last weekend, I began my journey of preparing myself for a week of heartache.
Times I wanted to scream in frustration, pound my fist at God screaming why and completly giving up on everyone and everything around me. All that came back to me was 4 Love Confessions... and the only way to react was Love..
Let me share them with you =)
1. God is perfect love 1 JOhn 4: 18..
2. NOTHING can seperate us from God's perfect love. Romans 8:38-39
3. God pours HIs perfect Love into my imperfect heart. Romans 5:5
4. Accessed, I can love ANYONE through ANYTHING Phil 4:13
As I learned these steps, and used them this week I've found out it's easier to hold resentment toward someone then to love. Funny how that works, the thing God says for us to use more of is harder to use then that which is more damaging.
There came a point this week, where I had a choice to Love or hold that grudge. To release a friendship for God to stregthen or hold on to the bitterness.
I have distanced myself from the friendship, but I've released God to do what he wishes with the releationship. My guard is up, my heart is broken and my arms are at a distance to protect my family but the Love of Christ is there, forgivness is there and I"m willing to walk this mile of pain to see what God has planned for me in the end...
As Beth Moore say's in her Journal on Loving well,
Loving well requires a persevering love that goes beyond our human capabilities. We Cannot love well unless we have a growing personal relationship with Christ. If we are growing in Christ, we are growing in Love because Love Springs from God. We have no higher calling the to Love. God measures Maturity by how we love.
We may not know how to find this Love within us, But God knows and is willing to give us just what we need, just at the right time. When we are willing to release....
