ADVENTURES IN BEANEBAGO
Keith and I have
dreamed of owning a camper for years, in August we made the jump, more like
high jump into the quick new world of. Wait for it. CAMPER LIVING! I had big
dreams of driving the country far and wide and enjoying the peace of the open
road. Yep! I was going to have the freedom to go anywhere, and everywhere I
wanted; No one to hold me down, or kids to keep me back. Then reality hit, my
bubble was popped, and I began seeing that my beautiful plan of freedom and
open road, was one that would have Katymayhem spots throughout the country. So,
I figured why keep the enjoyment to just Keith and I (and the kids of course),
let others join in with us on the beanabago adventures.
So, I will start with
the very first adventure in August 2020, while everyone was running around
figuring if they should wear masks or run from murder hornets; I was tackling
my adventures in the best way possible the BEAN WAY. National Lampoons Vacation
was my guide when it came to traveling alone with the camper. Whatever could
happen, happened with Katy at the wheel, and Keith off working in a different
state (for the most part).
Keith and I picked up
the camper with big smiles on our faces and hope in our hearts of a new life
that would lead us to freedom on the open road. First place to start a big
adventure was looking at our dream land in Washington state, out in the
northern lands where no one can find us. Keith saw it as an off-road
experience, I saw it as a bad idea with a camper; so off we went on dirt roads
heading towards our dream, bumping around, barely missing tree limbs; wait we
only took one or two with us, I found those in the front bed. We zoomed through
the great unknown of Washington state, only those who dare to bring a camper
know about. As I pulled out branches off the bed, I smiled thinking, Keith the
outdoors man that I love, that can take me to great unknown in a camper. Well, I
actually was still shaking from the near misses of other trees, and the potholes
that I was sure to mess up the driving of the camper. Through it all we found a
beautiful piece of land in Republic Washington, and they were not all crazy
about masks and murder hornets. We gazed around seeing Trump 2020 signs and
MAGA hats, we knew this could be the place for us, if only our camper and
checking account thought that way.
Continuing through our
adventure on this first week I began realizing reality and changing my
expectations to meet what my real mayhem life was to hold, when the open road
was in the course of my path of living. Keith and I have grown immensely
through this beginning journey into RVing. I am excited to see the growth that
will happen as we grow in knowledge, and experience on the open road. Me, Keith
and Maka (our golden) just riding the open road. Bring it on!
