Sons
=) I'm sitting here trying to type on my kids computer because mine has been taken over by my husband and my son playing worms. If you've never played you must check it out, what better way to get your aggresion out and blow up worms at the same time =). WELL I've come to the conclusion after trying to type on this computer that my kids are in deep need of a new key board, so note to self get the kids a keyboard that isn't such a pain to type with =).
This weekend went great, Micah came home late Saturday night from the hospital, He stayed home from church yesterday and started back to school today. he is such a trooper, in 3 days time from a surgery he is off back at school. Never complaining a bit just taking everything is stride.
I've been reading a book called " thats my son" and the first chapter is about the spartans and the leader of the group was asked how he picked the 300 men out to stand up and give their lives for those alli's around them. he's answer wasn't he picked the biggest and strongest of men, it wasn't the bravest men. It was he looked at the spouses and MOM"S how they would handle such grief with their death. He knew that if these women were the type to drown in the sorrow and not encourge the greeks to press on that the greeks would have been discourged. But because he picked the men like he did these women knew their men and son's died for a cause and that they must carry forward for the victory of the greeks. The greeks ended up winning that battle, and those women are documented in history as some of the bravest women. HOW powerful.
What I teach my son's, how I encourage them to realize there is pain, acknowlege it and move past it as quick as possible. Because there are many things waiting for them in their future and when they move forward the faster they can grip that which is put out there for them.
Sometimes I find myself in self pity, I realize I can look forward to the future or allow the present to swallow me up. I prefer a future for my boys, and for my family so i have choosen the look forward and let the past be just that the past. let the present come as it will and deal with each day as it comes.
I pray I can be a mom like the spartans mom's that looked forward, saw the reason and cause for their sons life and rejoice in the victory that comes from the sacrifices that are made for a cause that saves many.
